ABOUT THIS PROJECT
A little closer.
An independent cultural atlas for curious people.

Start with a place.
China, Unfolded connects a map to short, approachable introductions to culture, architecture, history and food. The first chapter focuses on Sichuan, with Chengdu as its most complete city guide.
Follow the evidence.
Published stories link to their sources. Museum, heritage and local information resources provide starting points; interpretations are written for general readers. An introduction is not an exhaustive history or a substitute for checking current visitor information.
A chapter at a time.
4 place guides and 10 stories are available in this pilot. All 21 Sichuan city and prefecture profiles are mapped; profiles still being prepared say so explicitly. All 34 first-level entries now have regional introductions. More detailed local chapters will be added through individual editorial work.
